Trip to Wapakoneta
This week I visited one of my favorite stores ever. It is called Relics and is located in Wapakoneta, Ohio. It is about 20 minutes from where I live. I love to visit when I have free time. They sell a variety of antiques and vintage clothes, which I’m really into. I found so many cool items, so it was a successful trip. I’ve taken many of my friends there and they all love it!
Wapak has a lot to offer considering it is such a small town. Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, is actually from Wapak, so they also have an Air and Space Museum there. I also really enjoy The Temple of Tolerance there too. It is a huge rock garden filled with artistically placed boulders and rocks. There are many historical artifacts scattered around such as a piece of the Berlin Wall.Wapak was also having a farmers market the day I was there, so I decided to look around. I bought lots of handmade jewelry, flowers and local honey. I had a great time looking around. I highly recommend that you check Wapak out sometime!
I think that spending time by yourself and doing activities alone is important. Sometimes it feels out of my comfort zone to not bring someone with me, but I’ve gotten more comfortable with time. I have learned a lot about myself and find it kind of peaceful.
It was a great day to decompress from a long and busy week!
I pass Wapakoneta every time I drive home and had no idea it had so much to offer. I also love farmers markets and not only getting fresh produce, but also supporting local farmers. Strolling through a farmers market is a great way to decompress and just be present. What day is the Wapakoneta farmers market on?
ReplyDeleteIt was a Saturday morning when I went! I'm not sure if they have it every weekend or not. Definitely something to check out :)
DeleteI've never been to Wapak before, but after listening to this I think I'll try and make the time! I love antiques. Something about the rustic style of things makes me feel good inside. If I had the room I'd decorate my entire room with old signs and antiques. A farmer's market is something I haven't been to in years. I'll have to make the time to go there too.
ReplyDeleteI have always driven past Wapak when driving up to campus in the fall. I have always been intrigued by the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum. I love vintage clothing so I also will make sure to check out Relics on my way back home. I will definitely be checking out all the hidden gems of Wapak sometime in the near future.
ReplyDeleteAs an out of stater, I've been dying to find a good place to go find vintage clothing in Ohio. I'll be sure to try this spot out!
